Check Ups and Cleans

Our dentists will look at the overall health of your mouth, checking if further treatment is required and ensuring no issues go undetected. This is an important preventative measure as the early detection of tooth and gum diseases will save you from more complex treatments in the future.

Our dentists will also thoroughly clean your teeth, removing any plaque build-up that you may have missed while brushing your teeth. They can also offer you advice for how to keep your mouth healthy and looking its best.

Got Questions? We’re Here to Help.

Explore the answers to our most commonly asked questions to help you feel more confident before your visit.

At MedCentral Dental, we generally recommend visiting every six months for a comprehensive check-up and professional clean. Regular visits allow us to detect early signs of decay, gum disease, or other oral health concerns before they become more complex or costly to treat.
That said, your ideal recall schedule depends on your individual needs. Patients with a history of gum disease, frequent decay, or medical conditions that impact oral health may require more frequent visits. During your appointment, we’ll provide a personalised recommendation tailored specifically to you.

Yes, we accept all major Australian health funds. If you have private health insurance with dental extras cover, you can claim your benefits on the spot using our HICAPS terminal — meaning you’ll only need to pay the gap (if any) on the day of treatment.
Our team is happy to explain your cover and provide a treatment plan with clear cost estimates before proceeding. We believe in transparency, so you’ll always understand your options and out-of-pocket expenses upfront.

Professional teeth whitening is generally safe, even for patients with sensitive teeth, when performed under dental supervision. At MedCentral Dental, we assess your oral health first to ensure whitening is appropriate for you.
If you have sensitivity, we can adjust the whitening strength, recommend desensitising products, or suggest alternative options to minimise discomfort. Our priority is achieving a brighter smile safely and comfortably.

Your first visit at MedCentral Dental is focused on understanding your dental health and your goals. We begin with a comprehensive examination, which may include digital X-rays if required, followed by a professional clean.
We take the time to discuss any concerns you may have and explain our findings clearly. If treatment is required, we’ll provide a detailed plan outlining your options, timelines, and costs — so you can make informed decisions with confidence.

Yes, we provide emergency dental appointments for patients experiencing pain, swelling, trauma, or unexpected dental issues. We understand that dental emergencies can be stressful, and our team prioritises urgent cases to provide prompt relief.
If you’re in discomfort, we encourage you to contact MedCentral Dental as early as possible so we can arrange the earliest available appointment.
